Airlie Beach
Schoolies activities at Airlie Beach will take place between Saturday, 21 November and Friday, 27 November 2009.
The Whitsunday Regional Council works with government agencies and local community groups to organise a comprehensive safety and activity program during Schoolies.
Schoolies visiting Airlie Beach must register to access the free activities on offer. Registration costs $25 and will take place each day in a clearly marked registration tent at Schoolies Central. School leavers must show appropriate photo ID and have their photo taken to receive a specially designed Schoolies ID card.
The Schoolies ID card will enable access to free and low-cost entertainment at Airlie Beach, including the nightly Red Frogs DJ parties staged at Schoolies Central, plus discounted tours and activities.
A Schoolies bus, courtesy of RACQ free2go, will offer free transportation. A Chill Out Zone near the main lagoon at Airlie Beach will provide a safe place to seek assistance and information, or just relax with other schoolies.
Police, emergency services, security and volunteer-run support agencies will maintain a highly visible presence at Airlie Beach providing medical assistance, as well as general support and advice.
